01

Build the inventory and the destination plan

Count desks, chairs, cabinets, equipment and boxes. Record destination rooms or work areas and identify anything that will be disposed of or stored. Confirm that larger furniture will fit through access routes at the new site before moving day.

02

Protect business continuity

Identify the work that must continue and the systems that need to be restored first. Agree backups, shutdowns and recommissioning with your IT provider. Keep essential records and contact lists available through the move. Physical transport is only one part of getting a workplace ready to use.

03

Coordinate the buildings

Speak to both property managers about loading bays, lift bookings, entry systems and permitted working times. Share the confirmed arrangements with the removals team. Give colleagues clear instructions about what to pack, how to label it and what must remain accessible.

04

Confirm the scope and handover

Make sure the written plan covers packing, dismantling, transport, storage and reassembly where agreed. At the destination, check placement against the floor plan before staff start unpacking. Keep a short list of any outstanding items with named owners so they are resolved systematically.
