A move planned around your home

Every property has its own practical details. A narrow staircase, a long walk from the front door or an awkward wardrobe can change how a move should be planned. We ask about both addresses so the right vehicle, handling arrangements and time can be considered before moving day. Tell us about lofts, garages, sheds and garden furniture as well as the main rooms.

Choose the help you need

You may want to pack everything yourself, leave fragile items to us or discuss a fuller packing service. Larger furniture may need dismantling and reassembly; flag this during your survey so it can be included in the agreed work. We can supply packing materials and discuss temporary storage if your new home will not be ready.

  • Packing options and protective materials
  • Furniture dismantling by prior agreement
  • Storage between completion dates

What happens on moving day

Keep documents, medicines, keys and overnight essentials with you. Walk through the property with the crew and point out anything fragile, anything staying behind and the rooms where furniture should go at the other end. Hornes supplies carpet protection for carpeted areas covered by the move. A final check together helps make sure the agreed items have been collected.

04

A clear quote before you commit

The amount to move, access, journey, packing and agreed extras all affect the price. A personalised quote is more useful than an instant figure that misses a flight of stairs or a full garage. Share as much detail as you can and ask us to explain any part of the scope before confirming. If something changes, contact us so the plan can change with it.

05

Preparing for your Newark house move

Start with an inventory of what is going and what will stay. Include outdoor items and spaces that are easy to overlook. For a town-centre property, check where a removal vehicle can stop and whether loading restrictions apply. For a shared drive or apartment building, speak to the owner or manager about access. Tell us about the destination too: a clear collection plan is only half the move.

06

When completion dates do not line up

A gap between leaving one property and getting the keys to another can change your plans. Ask about short or long-term furniture storage in Newark and collection or redelivery by arrangement. Keep essential documents, medication and items you will need during the gap with you. Confirm storage access and the work included in the quote before booking; CCTV monitoring does not mean unrestricted customer access.
