Information you give us
When you contact us, we receive the details you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, collection and destination postcodes, preferred moving date, property size and service requirements. Correspondence may contain further details needed to discuss your move. Please do not send payment card details, identity documents or sensitive information through the website enquiry form. If an access or communication need requires sensitive information, contact the team to discuss a suitable way to provide it.
Why we use it and our legal bases
We use enquiry details to answer questions, assess your requirements and prepare a quote. Where you ask us to take steps towards a booking, this processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract. When you book, relevant information is used to fulfil that contract. We may also process information to comply with legal obligations, such as accounting requirements, and for legitimate interests in securing the website, maintaining business correspondence and dealing with complaints or legal claims. These interests must be balanced against your rights. Optional analytics, if introduced, will have separate consent controls; submitting an enquiry is not consent to marketing.
Website, email and service providers
Vercel hosts this website and Sanity supplies website content. Hosting services can process technical data such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser information and security logs. When online sending is enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile checks submissions for spam and Resend forwards enquiries to the Hornes mailbox and sends acknowledgements. The mailbox provider processes the resulting correspondence. Authorised staff and service providers may access information where needed to deliver these services. The website application does not currently maintain a separate enquiry database. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or to advisers handling a relevant complaint or claim.
International processing
Website and communications providers may process information outside the UK. Where a restricted transfer occurs, appropriate safeguards are required, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards. Contact Hornes for information about the providers and safeguards applicable to your enquiry. Provider arrangements must be reviewed before new services are enabled.
How long information is kept
Retention depends on whether an enquiry becomes a booking and whether records are needed for accounts, a complaint, insurance or a legal claim. Unsuccessful enquiry correspondence should be retained only while needed for follow-up or another justified purpose. Booking records may need to be retained for applicable accounting and legal requirements. Contact Hornes for the retention period applicable to your records. This notice does not promise an automatic deletion period that has not been established.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction of inaccuracies, deletion, restriction of processing or transfer of information in a portable format. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where consent is used, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Rights are not absolute: some records may need to be retained for legal reasons. Requests can be sent to enquiries@hornesremovals.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity, and will normally respond within one month; permitted extensions will be explained.
Complaints and further information
Please contact Hornes if you are concerned about the handling of your information. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/ or on 0303 123 1113. Providing contact and service details is necessary for us to respond meaningfully to a quote request; you can contact us by telephone instead of using the website form.
Analytics, automated decisions and updates
Google Analytics and daily visitor reporting are not currently active on this website. The website does not use automated decision-making to approve bookings or calculate binding quotes. If tracking or enquiry storage is introduced, this notice and the cookie information must be updated before activation. Last reviewed: 10 September 2026. This notice covers the website and enquiries, not a complete inventory of every offline business process.
